The 4th day programme of DasaraYuvaSambhrama being held at Kuvempu Open-Air Theatre at Manasagangothri in city yesterday was dedicated to patriotism and environment protection by students of 45 colleges from across the State. The students took this opportunity to pay their tribute to the legendary SaalumaradaThimmakka, who planted thousands of saplings and nurtured them. Thimmakka had dedicated her entire life to create awareness among citizens not by mere words but with total commitment to the cause which was so dear to her heart. Students also presented dance features to highlight drought, extreme nature of environment and global warming due to felling of trees.
