Will this oxygen supplier at Railway Station survive ?

This helpless tree at Mysuru Railway Station has been cemented completely around its perimeter impractically, leaving no space for water to percolate or air to enter the roots. How can this tree possibly survive in this hot summer with little or no water? This will lead to the tree suffocating and dying a slow death. Isn’t this the murder of an oxygen supplier? questions a reader of SOM who sent us this picture. The Railway Authorities are urged to take steps and remove the concrete to give space to the tree to breathe and water to enter the roots.
