Sir,

A few roads in Mysuru city are laid with white toppings and concrete, such as Bogadi Road, Manandavadi Road, etc. Many of these roads were in good condition and motorable.

These good roads have been dug up to be re-laid with white topping and concrete. It is such a waste of taxpayers’ money when there are many roads in the city in all areas which are filled with potholes and craters, not motorable either.

Most of the roads were dug up for laying underground cables, UGD and water pipes in many localities and it is not repaired or re-laid, which are not motorable. With monsoon rains starting, it will be difficult for road users, especially for two-wheelers.

Many roads in Gokulam and Hebbal are not motorable. Though many complaints have been written in this column, nothing has been done.

Hope the authorities think sensibly and give preference to the roads that need more attention rather than digging and relaying of good roads.
