This refers to the news item titled ‘Credit for clean Dasara goes to workers: Commissioner’ in SOM dated Oct. 23, where Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner M.K. Savitha has complimented the civic workers and officials for keeping the city clean during Dasara. I was amused to read the statement. Does Mysuru city mean only the Palace and surroundings?
No garbage was collected for 4 days (from Monday to Thursday) in our locality and garbage was lying all around the Srirampura area. Even on Thursday, when we visited the Airport Road area, we found garbage lying all around.
It seems that the MCC is not interested in keeping the whole city clean. Last year also, garbage was thrown everywhere for a week. No alternative arrangements were made by the MCC to collect the garbage. So much for cleanliness!
