Sir,

The contractors installing the Dasara illumination displays are at grave risk, with a terrible accident waiting to happen. Workers are left to signal with their waving hands in the dark, which is barely visible to fast-approaching drivers. They are installing lights on dark roads where streetlights do little to make them visible to vehicle users. Authorities must insist that reflective safety gear and props be in place, and that work is conducted both beyond and within these safe zones. Alternatively, Police personnel with patrol vehicles should be stationed in front of and behind the installers, with flashing lights on, ensuring that both road users and subcontractors can use the road safely.
