Two goods-laden trucks collided head-on in the wee hours of today near Gundlupet. So severe was the accident that the front portion of one of the vehicles was mangled while the other truck turned turtle. Fortunately, no lives were lost. The accident occurred near Chikkahundi village in Gundlupet Taluk on National Highway 766 — Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road. While one cement-laden truck was proceeding towards Kerala from Mysuru, the other truck carrying goods was proceeding towards Mysuru. Passersby said that due to fog and cold air, visibility was poor. While the cement-laden truck driver escaped unhurt, Sadiq, the driver of the goods truck sustained minor injuries and has been admitted to K.R. Hospital in Mysuru.
