traffic signal needed at vijay

Sir,

This concerns the newly completed Nijalingappa Circle (formerly Vijaya Bank Circle) at the Saraswathipuram-Kuvempunagar junction.

It is a heavy-traffic zone located in a densely populated residential area.

The following crossings are frequently used by residents: Kantharaj Urs Road and Vishwamanava Double Road.

As a resident who must cross these junctions daily, I have narrowly escaped being hit by speeding vehicles several times. Our elderly neighbours and young children have faced similar frightening experiences.

We are forced to look anxiously in all directions to ensure no vehicle is speeding towards us, often jumping out of harm’s way at the last moment. Is this how one should live in a city known for its heritage and quality of life?

As the safety of residents in this thickly populated area is at serious risk, I request the authorities concerned in the Traffic Department to treat this as an urgent matter and install traffic signals with dedicated pedestrian crossing lights to allow safe passage across the junction.
