Sir, A long-pending demand of Mysureans of Track Doubling and Electrification has come true with the dedication of the Mysuru-Bengaluru double line to the nation by the Prime Minister of India on 19th. But on the other hand, we are still running trains without any revision in timings. Tipu Express for instance can cover the distance in 2 hours between two cities; many times it reaches Nayandahalli in 2 hours very comfortably (in fact it can make up in 1 hour 50 mins), but KSR just 10-15 minutes, it waits for 15 minutes unnecessarily despite being superfast. During single line itself 2 hours 15 minutes was given officially, now it has been increased to 2hrs 30 minutes. Shatabdi covers the distance in 1 hour 45 minutes when it is late running, but normally it takes 2 hours-plus. Brand new Humsafar Express takes 2 hours 20 mts. Non-stop Mayiladuturai takes 2 hours 45 minutes which could do in 2 hours 30 minutes or less. Most of the express trains reach Kengeri in 2 hours 15 mts from where KSR is 20 minutes, but express trains have been given officially 3 hours. Benefits of Track Doubling and Electrification should reflect in the changes in time-table and optimal utilisation of track and reflect to a passenger using the Railway services. It should not just be a hype.
