Sir, The people of Karnataka are watching the drama of the intense haggling between the Congress and JD(S)  over money-spinner portfolios. Every party promises honest and transparent governance during their election campaign but once they form the government they seem to forget their poll promises. If any party worth its salt is keen on giving an honest and clean governance, why should they bother about the portfolios? It is indeed an irony that a party with only 17 percent out of the total MLAs is demanding all the major plum portfolios! The reality is every political party wants to get portfolios with higher budgetary allocation so that they can loot the public exchequer for their personal and party’s benefit. End of the day, all political parties are the same in so far as corruption is concerned. Ultimately the common man can only wring his hands in utter frustration and helplessness. God Save Indian Democracy!
