Sir, The main purpose of fixing metal barricades or constructing a road hump is to ensure that all motorists slow down at this point. Humps or barricades are fixed in junctions to enable smooth flow of vehicles in all directions. But unfortunately in our city many of the motorists — especially the two-wheelers increase their vehicle speed when they approach the humps or barricades. A law-abiding motorist will find it difficult to cross a junction with the presence of such motorists who do not care for their safety or safety of other motorists.
