An exhausted and a sleepy car driver drove his vehicle straight into a pond last night at K.R. Pet. Fortunately, the driver managed to escape and there were no other passengers. The incident occurred at Neralakatte village in K.R. Pet taluk when the car driver Naveen Kumar of Kurrenahalli village was coming to K.R. Pet and he was apparently tired due to continuous driving. As he was negotiating a curve near the pond, he lost control over the vehicle and drove it into the water. Fortunately, Naveen Kumar managed to open the vehicle’s door and move out. Police and Fire Services personnel were trying hard this morning to retrieve the car. Villagers have demanded the Panchayat authorities to construct a retaining wall by the side of the pond.
