Short circuit destroys house, furniture in Kodagu

Wooden furniture worth over Rs. 40 lakh was gutted in a short circuit at a house in Srimangala village in South Kodagu. The incident occurred two days back at the house of Ajjamada Pushpa where the wooden ceiling, staircase and the furniture of the house were destroyed. Family members said that valuables including gold, silver electronic items too were destroyed. Though fire engines were pressed into service from Gonikoppal, the house was rendered unfit for dwelling by the inferno. Virajpet Tahsildar Govindaraju visited the house and a case has been registered at Srimangala Police Station.
