On Vanivilasa Road connecting the old Law Courts and the RTO, roadside mobile fast food vendors have encroached upon the footpath, causing severe inconvenience to pedestrians, especially senior citizens. As a result, people are forced to walk on the main road, which in turn disrupts traffic movement during peak hours.
More importantly, Vanivilasa Road connecting to Mahatma Gandhi Road has become one of the busiest roads in Mysuru in recent years. However, there are no speed breakers along this stretch. There have been several cases where vehicles, especially two-wheelers, speeding along this road, have caused fatal accidents.
I appeal to the Mysuru City Corporation authorities, the Police Commissioner and the Traffic Department to take immediate steps to clear the fast food vendors from this area and install speed breakers along the stretch before any untoward incidents occur in the future.
