Sir, Many, many thanks for inviting me to 40th Anniversary Celebrations of SOM, which has now attained gentle maturity to throw intensive and meaningful light on vital aspects that confront society. The STAR that emerged on the horizon 40 years ago is still radiating its light more brightly than ever before. This print media has done wonders. It has ignited the mind of man to go for facts and reality. Its invaluable services of four decades igniting our minds and kindling our conscience are all the products of a mighty soul named K.B. Ganapathy. My prayers for your long life, health, strength, happiness, peace and prosperity together with your wish to bloom India to be an oasis of peace in the deserts of conflicts and confrontations. Secondly, I owe you a debt of gratitude for that exhilarating note on Gandhian Peace Chair in the University. I felt I was fully awarded when at least one man of your stature appreciated my thoughts. Rightly you have hinted values of the University are other than academic. But let us carry on our mission irrespective of thorns on the way. SOM has upheld the values of the land, the core of which are the dignity of man, the sentiment of the unity of man, and the respect for man. Let this STAR shine for ever and ever!
