One of our SOM readers sent us this picture of a car parked permanently on the footpath of New Kantharaj Urs Road, near Sharadadevinagar Circle. Such illegal occupancy of footpath are aplenty on this section of the road, especially during evening hours, by pavement sellers, eateries and even shopkeepers. As far as the road itself, vehicles and pushcarts are parked haphazardly and dangerously on both sides, which take away more than half its width, leaving the rest for vehicular traffic and pedestrians. Neither the Traffic Police nor MCC authorities have bothered to look at the problems faced everyday by the public on this stretch of the arterial road. Can we hope something will be done now?, the reader asks.
