parking crisis on d. devaraj u

Sir,

As you are aware, finding a parking spot on this stretch of D. Devaraj Urs Road has historically been a significant challenge for shoppers, business owners and visitors.

However, the recent introduction of additional ‘No Parking’ zones has turned a difficult situation into a near-impossible one. While I understand the need for smooth traffic flow, the current approach is causing several unintended consequences: Local businesses are reporting a drop in footfall as customers avoid the area due to parking frustration.

Vehicles are spilling over into narrow residential lanes and side streets, creating gridlock in areas not designed for high-volume parking.

D. Devaraj Urs Road is a vital commercial hub for our city. Removing existing parking capacity without providing a viable, high-capacity alternative, such as a designated multi-level parking facility nearby, is hurting the vibrancy of the area.

I request that the Traffic Police Department re-evaluate the recent ‘No Parking’ extensions.
