The twelve Dasara elephants out of fourteen (two jumbos rested) majestically taking part in the route familiarisation exercise from the Mysore Palace upto Old RMC and back this morning via K.R. Circle. The elephants, led by howdah-carrier Abhimanyu, marched on the route with their mahouts and kavadis amidst the watchful eyes of the forest officials. On the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, special pujas will be offered to the pachyderms at the Palace tomorrow at 12.30 pm. Soon, all the fourteen elephants will be taken out on the 5-km Jumboo Savari route from Mysore Palace to Torchlight Parade Grounds in Bannimantap.
