Sir, At present Electronic Clearing System (ECS) mode of payment is not available for Mysuru citizens to pay their monthly electricity and water bills. These Departments have opened many counters across the city to ensure that the waiting time for remitting bills by consumers are reduced. However, if the ECS is introduced by these Departments, it will reduce their workload/manpower besides facilitating public from noting down the monthly dates in their diaries. This facility is familiar in Bengaluru and they encourage the use of ECS by offering nominal discount on monthly billing. When these Departments are honestly trying to improve their image/functioning, an attempt can be made in this direction. I am sure, this will be appreciated by majority of Mysureans and gradually the respective Departments can reduce the manpower also. The only condition for the people opting for this facility is that they have to maintain sufficient balance to meet the bill amount on the due dates.
