Sir, A visit to the Mysore Palace revealed lack of commitment to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan with the absence of dustbins in and around the historical Palace and no proper allotted area for hawkers to sell their snacks or wares. There seems to be no instructions to hawkers to have their own dustbins to keep their surrounding space clean. Wondering how dustbins could be forgotten when the cleanliness campaign is still on ! Elephant dung is not cleaned and rampant use of plastic covers is seen around the Palace in spite of the ban. Will the authorities concerned please take immediate steps to ensure hawkers and visitors don’t insult the beauty of our Palace and rich heritage of Mysuru Dasara?
