The idol of Goddess Sri Bala Tripurasundari Devi at Amrutheshwara Temple on Dewan’s Road here was decorated with currency notes of various denominations amounting to lakhs of rupees. The decoration in currency notes was done to mark Dhanalakshmi puja on Oct.19. Many devotees provided the currency notes as they believe that the money would improve their business. The money, in the denominations of Rs. 10 to Rs. 2,000, was returned to devotees after puja.
