Sir, Stray dogs are in abundance in our city parks, posing serious threats to all of us, especially children. The picturesque Lingambudhi Lake has perhaps 20 such dogs or more. This morning while walking I came near a pack of dogs sitting near the railing overlooking the lake. They started growling and barking. I made a swift retreat but still could hear their barking. There are fewer walkers at Lingambudhi Lake, which makes the dogs there more aggressive. For an adult, a dog bite may invite an anti-rabies injection. A child, on the other hand, will be more prone to be mauled by such dogs, under the slightest provocation, for example pelting a stone by a harmless child. Perhaps the authorities can think of keeping the stray dogs inside an enclosure in each park if capturing and neutralising them goes against the law.
