City photo-journalist M.S. Anurag Basavaraj, who participated in Altamira National Salon 2025 photography competition (Press photography category), has bagged gold medal for his photo of people fleeing from blazing fire at Chamundi Hill. The photo was clicked by Basavaraj about two months ago when a large forest area atop Chamundi Hill caught fire. People had crowded the spot when fire-fighters were dousing it during which gusty wind blew bringing the flames with it. Basavaraj clicked the photo when people were fleeing to escape the fire.
