To create environmental awareness among people and to stress the need for protecting the greenery around us, Virgin of the Poor Church had organised a tree planting programme at its premises in Bannimantap on Sunday. Deputy Mayor Anwar Baig, Mysuru City Corporation Births and Deaths Statistical Officer Anil Christy and PRO and social activist Alwin planted saplings in front of the Church. Rev. Fr. Becket, Parish Priest, Fr. Leonard, Assisting Priest and Dr. Prashanth from St. Philomena's College addressed the gathering.
