Sir, The main motto behind establishing ATM units by Banks is to avoid mad rush, elaborate process and to save time of customers as well as Bank staff. After establishing ATM units, most of the customers heaved a sigh of relief. But gradually this concept proved to be futile in the minds of customers. To cite an example, the ATM facility established by SBI in Dattagalli (next to old Kadamba Bakery) is no doubt open 24X7. But the customer, who visits there to withdraw amount, returns haplessly by seeing the hand-written slip “No Cash” — which is pasted on the glass of entrance door. And the security personnel seldom appears. According to the opinion of locals, this ATM is hardly useful for an average of 7 to 8 days in a month. Rest of the days, it runs without cash. Obviously, customers like me and others are facing a lot of inconvenience. Therefore, it is requested that the authorities concerned will give immediate attention to this problem and see that cash is filled up in the machine at least once in two days.
