When politicians are behind owls as they are considered to be lucky charms this election season, an ardent SOM reader Sagar Suresh sent this picture of Spotted Owlet (Athene brama) captured at Kukkarahalli Lake. According to him, there are two individuals (pair) at the spot which roost inside an opening in the wall of the Watch Tower at the Lake bund during day time and comes out for hunting in the evening. They stalk their prey by perching on the nearby tree branches and return to their roost in the morn.
