Sir, In the past, many traffic signals were installed at prominent places in Mysuru city which was a welcome move. However, during course of time, these traffic lights became defunct and it seems nobody is bothered to reactivate this. One such point is Kumbarakoppal junction on the KRS Road. The newly-constructed Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology & Research Centre has been opened for public recently and with this, traffic at this point may become still worse. Motorists and road crossers at this point find it very difficult to negotiate during the peak hours from 8 to 11 in the morning and from 5 to 8 in the evening. Before any major casualty takes place, I request the concerned to activate the defunct signal lights.
