A giant crossover attempt at Bandipur

A tusker with crossed tusks tried to climb the Railway track gate installed by the Forest Department at Hediyala Range of Bandipur Tiger Reserve this morning. The tusker was attempting to enter the villages adjoining the forest fringes to raid the standing crops. Soon, forest guards on beat and officials took a jeep and tried to chase the pachyderm back into the forest. Seeing the vehicle, the tusker got enraged and tried to push the barricade to attack the jeep, trumpeting a couple of times. It even tried in vain to climb over the barricade in a fit of rage. The tusker eventually ran back into the woods.
