Mysuru: Bharatiya Samskruthika Vikasa Vedike, Lions Club of Bengaluru, Sandalwood celebrities, Professional Courier, Nrupathunga Charitable Trust, Akhila Karnataka Shivasharana Madara Chennaiah Vichara Vedike, Bhoomika Balaga of Srirangapatna and Sarthaka Seva Trust together had organised a programme at Nataraja Kalyana Mantap here yesterday commemorating 115th birth anniversary 150th birth of Gandhiji, Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and for the presentation of ‘Sarvodaya Siri’ award.
Speaking on the occasion former Speaker Krishna observed that the advent of Western culture in India had dislodged close-knit joint families with the younger generation going weak morally and intellectually. He opined that family bonding was strong in rural areas which should be retained.
