Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of General Medicine, JSS Medical College & Hospital, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), observed World Immunisation Day-2026 at JSS Hospital recently. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Javeed Nayeem, Senior Physician.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Javeed Nayeem emphasised the importance of immunisation in prevention of deaths due to infectious diseases. He called upon the doctors to create awareness and remove the myths associated with immunisation in the society.
He further encouraged the doctors to take the initiative to work in rural areas and contribute to the upliftment of the health care. Lauding the achievements of JSS institutions, he expressed his happiness at JSS Hospital for establishing full-fledged immunisation centre.
Hospital Director Dr. C.P. Madhu, who was the guest of honour, requested the public to utilise the services available at JSS centre.
Dr. M. Suresh Babu, Professor and HoD of Medicine, in his welcome address, shared the details of facilities available at the immunisation centre. Dr. M.C. Prasad, Deputy Medical Superintendent, proposed the vote of thanks.
The inauguration was followed by an educational lecture on ‘Adult immunisation’ by Dr. T. Thippeswamy, Professor of Medicine, JSS Medical College.
