Mysore/Mysuru: Loss of wilderness, application of chemicals and possibly climate change may have together diminished the bee population, making it critical to ensure our long-term food security. Although we have an urban consciousness to develop more green spaces in cities, we somehow protest when bees build their hives amongst us and hurriedly smoke them out.
Farmer’s House, in association with the Agriculture, Rural Development and Environmental Awareness (ARDEA) Foundation, is organising a learning workshop titled ‘Urban bee — The need to protect a helpful sting’ on Apr. 28 (Sunday) at the Farmer’s House, 1A, 13th Cross, Kalidasa Road, V.V. Mohalla. The workshop will begin at 5 pm and entry is free.
