Mysuru: A two-day capacity building workshop on Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) was conducted by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Government of India, in association with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Global Environment Facility (GEF) and Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL), recently for the students of School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), University of Mysore, recently.
Dr. H.N. Nagendara of SPA inaugurated the workshop by switching on a LED Solar Lantern. Speaking on the occasion, he said that buildings are major consumers of energy in their construction, operation and maintenance phase. Energy consuming systems for lighting, air-conditioning and water heating provide comfort to its occupants.
