Works on Indira Canteens to begin soon in city: DC

Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) D. Randeep has said that 11 Indira Canteens will start functioning in the city from Jan. 1, 2018. Speaking to press persons after holding a meeting at his office recently, he said that apart from the eleven in city, one Indira Canteen will be set up in six other taluks of the district and they too will start functioning from the New Year. Pointing out that the authorities have identified the spots for setting up of the Canteens, the DC said that as some locations come under the purview of ZP, Revenue Department and KSRTC, the Departments concerned have been asked to issue NoC at the earliest. Announcing that the civil works on the construction of canteens will commence soon, he said that the officials have been directed to ensure that the works are completed by Jan. 1.
