women’s premier league to kick

Navi Mumbai: The fourth edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) will run from Jan. 9 to Feb. 5.

Navi Mumbai will host the first 11 games, from Jan. 9 to 17, while Baroda will host the other 11 including the eliminator and the final.

As with the first three editions, the WPL 2026 will also feature the usual five teams — Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and UP Warriorz.

The WPL 2026 will be conducted in a double round-robin format featuring five teams. The league toppers will directly progress to the final, while the second and third-placed teams will contest in an Eliminator in the play-offs.

Mumbai Indians head into this year’s tournament as the Defending Champions after they beat Delhi Capitals in last year’s final to win their second WPL trophy.

Inaugural match will be between Mumbai Indians Vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru at D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai at 7.30 pm tomorrow.
