Mysuru: A woman has lost her box containing gold jewellery worth about Rs. 4.08 lakh while boarding a bus at the Rural Bus Stand in city on July 12. The woman, who lost her gold is 33-year-old Supriya, a resident of Dandikere village.

Supriya, who had come to her relative’s house at Hebbal, boarded a KSRTC bus to City Bus Stand on July 12 at about 4.15 pm, carrying a vanity bag containing the jewels. After alighting from the bus at City Bus Stand, Supriya went to the adjacent Rural Bus Stand to catch a bus to Dandikere. When the bus arrived at 5 pm, there was a huge rush of passengers to board the bus following which she gave the vanity bag to a stranger inside the bus to reserve a seat for her while carrying another vanity bag containing jewels herself.

After boarding the bus in the rush, Supriya located her vanity bag and sat on the seat. She later opened the vanity bag containing jewels only to find the jewel box missing and immediately enquired about it with fellow passengers but in vain.

She then lodged a complaint at Devaraja Police Station.
