Solana is a new open-source project that makes a fast, permissionless layer-1 blockchain. The project is a good idea in many ways.
A blockchain was made by Anatoly Yakovenko, who used to work for Qualcomm and made Solana in 2017. Its main goal is to increase throughput more than most popular blockchains can do while keeping the cost of running it low. Solana is making a new proof-of-history (PoH) model that mixes old and new ideas.
