Mysuru: The Forest Department, which had commenced an operation to drive the two wild tuskers which were found roaming in villages on city outskirts, has succeeded in driving the two wild elephants towards Maradigudda forest area through H.D. Kote’s Gopalapura and Bettadabeedu yesterday.

After these wild elephants were spotted at villages near the city’s Outer Ring Road, the Forest officials and staff began the operation to drive the wild elephants towards the forest but the elephants, which were reluctant to move, had stayed put causing headache to the Forest Department officials, who had to face the anger of villagers.
