Madikeri: A War Memorial and Wall of Heroes was inaugurated at the Sainik School premises in Kudige village near Kushalnagar in Kodagu district last Thursday. The memorial was built to invoke patriotism among students and to show gratitude to the soldiers who had sacrificed their lives for the nation.
The memorial comprises graphic panels, stone murals and an inverted bayonet with a helmet structure. The ‘Wall of Heroes’ depicts details of all the 21 Param Veer Chakra awardees and quotes of brave martyrs are engraved on the memorial.
