Mysuru: Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) awarded Rs. 1.25 lakh cash prizes NIE Mysuru for achievements in sports for the academic year 2024-25 at an event held at VTU campus in Belagavi recently.
The college had scored a total of 552 points in the VTU inter-collegiate sports activities during 2024-25.
NIE excelled in VTU Inter-Collegiate Mysuru Division and State-level Sports activities in Chess, Volleyball, Basketball, Yoga, Throwball, Softball, Baseball, Handball, Table Tennis, Badminton and Kho-Kho.
This apart, 20 students of the institute represented VTU in Inter-University Sports Competitions — Basketball - 2, Volleyball - 1, Softball - 5, Cricket - 1, Hockey - 2, Baseball - 3, Handball - 2, Tennis - 1, Weightlifting - 2 and Wushu - 1.
