Mysuru: Since the recent protest against the Railway line passing through Kodagu, a video about Cauvery River has become popular. Titled “This is the story of Kaveri (and every river everywhere)”, the video sends out a message that instead of fighting over river sharing, we must find ways to save the Cauvery River which is drying up due to lack of rains. The film is simple and it drives home a message: Bring back the forests. Bring back the rains and let Cauvery flow.
This video has been produced jointly by Reforest India, an initiative of Rajanet Yegneswaran Charitable Trust, a Bengaluru-based NGO and Mysuru’s Cycle Pure Agarbathies. The video has been made in three languages — Kodava Thakk (Kodava dialect), Kannada and Tamil.
