A one-day orientation programme on Goods and Services Tax (GST), focusing on Tally for GST was organised by the Department of Studies in Commerce, University of Mysore in association with Tally Education, Bengaluru, for UG and PG Commerce teachers at the Seminar Hall of the Department of Studies in Commerce, Manasagangothri here yesterday.
Inaugurating the programme, Prof. Yashwanth Dongre, Acting VC of Mysore University, said that the GST is a comprehensive indirect tax on manufacture, sale and consumption of goods and services throughout India, that replaces taxes levied by the Central and State Governments.
