Mysuru District Administration, Zilla Panchayat (ZP), Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department and Sri Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited, Mysuru City and Taluk Nayaka Community Associations have jointly organised Valmiki Jayanti celebrations at Kalamandira in city on Oct. 17 at 12.30 pm. District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa will inaugurate the programme in the presence of CM Siddaramaiah and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy. MLA K. Harishgowda will preside. MPs Yaduveer Wadiyar and Sunil Bose will be the chief guests. Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies (KIKS) Director Prof. N.K. Lolakshi will be the main speaker.
