Mumbai, June 6 - Fifteen-year-old young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who won the Orange Cap and Most Valuable Player awards among others in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL), was selected to Indian Senior Men’s T20 team for the upcoming series against Ireland, England and Asian Games 2026 to be held in Japan.

The teams were announced by Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar at Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) head quarters here this morning.

Representing Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL, Vaibhav scored an incredible 776 runs at a strike-rate of 237.3 in the tournament. Vaibhav will become the youngest Indian cricketer to play international cricket.

It may be recalled that Sachin Tendulkar was youngest to debut for India at the age of 16 years and 207 days and Washington Sundar was the youngest T20 debutant at 18 year and 80 days.

Meanwhile, the selectors have dropped Suryakumar Yadav from the team, who has been replaced with Shreyas Iyer as the Captain.
