UoM VC: Search Committee meets in Bengaluru

Mysuru: The Search Committee headed by former VTU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof H.P. Kincha and three other members — former VC of Gulbarga University Prof. V.B. Coutinho, UGC member Dr V.S. Chauhan  and Central University VC Prof. H.M. Maheshwaraiah — met here today in Bengaluru to propose the name of the VC to the University of Mysore (UoM).  However, it is the decision of the Governor-Chancellor and the State Government to finally choose the VC, said a source. It is said that CM Siddharamaiah is favouring Prof. C.P. Siddhashrama of the Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies, while the Governor is for Prof. Somashekar from Environmental Science, Bangalore University.
