UoM to felicitate prize-winning sports persons this evening

The Department of Physical Education (DPE), University of Mysore (UoM), will be honouring the University sports persons who have secured prizes in the All India Inter-University Sports Competitions (2017-2018) by giving them cash awards and blazers and also presenting cash award incentives to the Mysore University Inter-Collegiate Sports Competition's Champion teams in athletics (men and women), Cross-Country (men and women), Inter-Collegiate Inter Zonal (men and women) Games as per the recommendations of the University Sports Committee at its meeting held in February. The felicitation and cash award presentation ceremony will be held at the University Sports Pavilion today (Mar.27) at 5 pm. UoM Registrar D. Bharathi will be the chief guest. UoM in-Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. C. Basavaraju will preside. Cash awards will be presented to men's yoga team (winners of gold in the AIU Team Championship), men's kho-kho team (Winners of the All-India Kho-Kho Championship), women's kho-kho team (Winners of bronze medal in All-India championship) & Meghana Devanga (Winner of Bronze medal in shot-put event in All India Athletic Championship). The Manager & Coaches of the respective teams will also be given cash awards.
