Mysuru: Faced with a severe financial crunch, the cash-strapped University of Mysore (UoM) has decided to increase the rent of all guest houses, residential quarters and commercial complexes under its jurisdiction in a bid to bolster its revenues. The decision was taken at the University Syndicate Meeting held at Crawford Hall, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. N.K. Lokanath.
During the meeting, Syndicate Members pointed out that even a modest 10 to 20 percent hike in rents could significantly increase the University's income.
