Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) Director for Student Welfare Dr. K.B. Praveen has said that from this academic year, it is mandatory for Post-Graduate students of the University to apply for hostel facility online. Addressing a press conference here yesterday, Dr. Praveen said the University has introduced online application system to maintain transparency in allotting the seats. He pointed out that students who have obtained admission for various courses in the Varsity and want hostel facility must apply online. Even the existing inmates of the PG hostels should apply online to get admission for the present academic year, he said and added that the online admission process will be extended to UG hostels as well in the coming years. Continuing, he said that first year PG students can apply online for hostel admission from July 27 to Aug. 2 while second year PG students can apply between July 20 and 26. Stating that the online hostel admission process has got the nod of the UoM Syndicate, Dr. Praveen said that the University will take measures to drive out unauthorised persons staying in the hostel.
