Mysuru: Car Car Car elnodi Car... is a popular catchy song from the movie Nanna Preetiya Hudugi. However, the inspiration for collection of photographs of cars did not come from this song, but it came when he visited the Vintage Car Museum at Dharmasthala and saw the car collection of Dharmadhikari Dr. Veerendra Heggade 17 years ago.
The 65-year-old R. Muni Rao Mane, a retired Senior Assistant, KSRTC, explores the journey of the automobile through his collection of more than 1,500 photographs of cars of all makes. Right from the first steam engine car produced in Germany in 1769 in the form of a tricycle, to the cars owned by the Maharajas, imported cars that came to the State and many vintage cars are in his collection.
