National Flags were hoisted on the bunds of lakes at Naganahalli, Hebbalaguppe, Chikereyour, Savve, Noralakuppe, Tumbasoge and Chakkodanahalli, besides planting saplings and creating awareness on water conservation in Annur Gram Panchayat limits.

Under the VB-G RAM G (Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, earlier MGNREGA) scheme, 85 Amrit Sarovar lakes developed across the district served as focal points of the celebrations. The programmes also encouraged rural households to make use of the livelihood security benefits available under the VB-G RAM G scheme.
