Mysuru: The tribal children staged the play ‘Angabhangada Rajyadalli’ at Sri Rajendra Bhavan located at JSS Hospital premises recently. The play was directed Jeevan Kumar Heggodu and written by Krishnamurthy Biligere. The play, organised under the joint aegis of DEED Institute and Milinda Educational Institution and sponsored by the Department of Kannada & Culture, spoke about the ill-effects of deforestation. Earlier, inaugurating the event, Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Chennappa said that programmes like these would help tribal children, who possess immense talent, to showcase their skills. The play was followed by Koraga Kunita, Kolata and Kangeelu dance performances by the tribal children. Karnataka State Tribal Research Institute Director Prof. T.T. Basavana Gowda, Hotelier Vivekanand, social worker Somashekar, Dr. S. Srikanth of DEED Institute and others were present.
