Nanjangud: Putting an end to a 25-year-old legal battle, a T. Narasipur Court has ruled that Nanjangud’s Srikanteshwaraswamy temple has full rights over the revenue earned from tonsuring (Mudi Seve) service charges.
Nayana Kshatriya Samaja, which is engaged in head tonsuring of devotees who take a vow for Mudi Seve at Nanjangud temple’s Mudikatte, used to keep all the revenues earned out of the service. This had resulted in revenue loss of lakhs of rupees every month for the temple, which forced the temple authorities to bring Mudi Seve under the temple’s control nearly 25 years ago.
